GeoDog- Cache Up in a Tree?

Dudes, Charley here.  Reporting to you about the time Momma met her friend C and my friend Maya for some cache hunting.  You can find their blog here!  Yep, Momma has real life friends with doggies too!  Click on over and go say hello!  Anyways, Momma and her friend wanted to go for a walk with us, and did not want to have any ticks, so they decided on going for a little walk in a town called Patchogue, on the south shore of Long Island.  It’s undergoing some revitalization, so they are trying to build back up their main street.

Check out the cool murals! We had never been here before, and Momma wanted to see how I would do just the two of us in a new and busy place. She said I did just fine! Duh, like of course.

Okay, so here are our friends.

Ain’t Maya a cutie?? Ok, so we took a little walk to try to find cache GC343KB – Garden of Delights.  Click on the link to follow along.  The cache is in a small garden and the hint says to look up.  Out little app took us to this garden.  So pretty!

We were lead to a nice looking tree, and since the clue said to look up, we did. Do you see what I see?

C found it:

A black canister hanging under the tree. You never know what you are gonna find when you play! So we found the log, but neither of us had a pen with us (doh!) so we submitted a photo of the log as proof we were there.

GeoDog Charley signing off. This is the end of our geocaching examples until you have to post yours on Friday the 16th.  We’ve shown you park and grabs, we’ve shown you nanos, we’ve shown you virtual caches, we’ve taught you to look up and look down, you never know where they are gonna be!  Hope you are now able to play along and we can’t wait to see where you went.  Til next time dudes.

That is so cool that you found another geo cache! Just an idea, but can you post larger pics so we can see what you find better? I used to use small photos on my blog long ago, until someone made a suggestion about enlarging them when I posted. What did the little piece of paper say that you found in the container? I am curious! Can’t wait to see what you find next.

Good find! Sometimes they are really tricky and you have to think outside the box.

Oh that was interesting, Charley. I think it’s a very nice hobby to find geo caches – your will find an interesting thingy (or not) and you have a long walk together with your dog(s).

I don’t like to go to the Island. I never get off it. The L. I. E. is a parking lot and the alternative escape routes are blocked also (like the Cross-Island Parkway). The BQE? Forgedaboudit. I’m glad you found your cache-I couldn’t find home from there.

Mom was thinking she might form a Geocache Challenge for sometime in the fall for our church. Right now she is testing the interest levels. Thanks for teaching us all about this!

It might be a cool thing for its youth group too….there are lots of scout groups near us that hide their own caches, so that might something for teens to do by you.

We wish Mom’s back would hurry up and feel better because we want to join in all the geocaching fun too. She wants to do it and she thinks the grandbipeds would love it too.

    Happy Sunday.

Excellent find, Charley! Looking forward to my big geocache hunt with Mommy. She has figured out the general location of the cache. Finding it may be a whole other thing. 🙂

Well I told you all about my first find ~ surprisingly it looked just like your tree find.
Seems like cork lady is always ahead of me and leaves a cork.
It made us sad the last storm brought down the tree that held the cache.
    I like seeing the mural.
Thanks for stopping by my blog

I’m thinking I may need a compass for this. Apparently, I was absent the day they taught East, West, North, and South. I only know Right and Left.

    I like that mural!

That is a cute little garden. I made a goal to try geocaching before the GeoDog Day challenge ends so I better get a move on.
