He’s home! Here’s how the afternoon went down….

Taking advantage of all the new toys!
Liking all the things Finn does too.
For right now, Finn seems to be enjoying the new play toy we’ve brought home for her…
We’ve found out that Charley is not house broken! UGHGH. He’s heading off to the vet this morning for a complete check-up and hopefully he’ll have a clean bill of health. He seems a bit wobbly on his feet…I wonder how much exercise he has ever had before. Anyways, 8 months old, 40 pounds and a bundle of energy so far!

What a cutie! Dont panic yet about the house breaking sometimes dogs take a few days to adjust to a new environment. When we brought Zira home she was 9 and had many accidents the first few days, but then it got much much better. Good luck

A big welcome to Charley. We’ve paws and fingers crossed that all goes well at the vet. Is there any possibility that Charley has merely forgotten his housetraining given the stress of being in a new home? When I first adopted my Westie he was nearly 4 years old and he did have several ‘accidents’ in the first couple of weeks, but after that, without me doing anything very much, he
was absolutely fine.

I bet he will be house broken quickly by watching Finn. As for the wobble..he could have been kenneled and not exercised much. 100% sure TLC will conquer all hurtles

Welcome, Charley. Looks like Finn and Charley are off to a great start. Just be firm from the start with the potty training and he will catch on quickly. Keep him on a short leash inside close by you all the time. He will get it.

We got our Golden when he was 14 months and he was not housebroken either. He had lived in a kennel so he didn’t really need it. In no time he got the picture and it wasn’t like having a wee pup with a small bladder who couldn’t hold it for long.
